DocMerge Terms of Service

1) Acceptance

By accessing or using DocMerge (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2) The Service

DocMerge lets you upload Word (.docx) files or a .zip containing folders of .docx, then merges them into a single .docx. We may change or discontinue features at any time.

3) Your content & license

• You retain all rights to the files you upload.
• You grant us a limited, temporary license to process your files solely to provide the merge result you request.
• Do not upload content that you do not have a right to process, or that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.

4) File handling & storage

• Uploads are processed ephemerally; temporary working folders are deleted after the merged file is sent.
• We do not provide long-term storage or backups of your inputs or outputs. Please keep your own copies.

5) Fair use & limits

• Free tier limits (subject to change): up to 25 files, 10 MB per file, 25 MB total per merge.
• We may rate-limit or block abusive or automated usage without notice.
• We may introduce paid plans or additional limits in the future.

6) Prohibited uses

• Uploading malware, illegal content, or content that violates others’ rights.
• Interfering with or overloading the Service (e.g., scraping, denial of service).
• Attempting to bypass limits, security controls, or access others’ data.

7) Ads

The site may show advertising (e.g., Google AdSense). Your use is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

8) Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE MERGED OUTPUT WILL PRESERVE ALL FORMATTING OR FEATURES IN ALL CASES.

9) Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $50.

10) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content or misuse of the Service.

11) Intellectual property

The DocMerge name, site, and code are protected by applicable IP laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or source code.

12) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan (without regard to conflict-of-laws principles). Venue and jurisdiction shall lie in courts located in Japan. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

13) Changes

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
